Abstract 

이 논문은 오늘날 수준에서 정년제를 개혁할 필요가 있는지를 검토한다. 이 복잡하고 어려운 문제에 답하기 위하여, 유럽에서 부터 미국에 나타나기까지 정년제의 역사를 처음으로 추적한다. 다음으로, 오늘날 대학에서 정년제를 정의하는데 있어서 AAUP의 중요한 역할을 검토한다. 대학 정년제도의 절차 측면에서 검토하여 정년제의 현재 상대를 분석하는 것으로 이동한다. 그에 따라, 가능한 형태의 정년제 개혁 방안을 도모한다.
